Every day, hundreds of thousands of investors flock to the TSX Venture Exchange to discover the latest stocks to follow. Yesterday, there were a number of stocks that had made notable gains and could be on the radars of investors this morning. Here is a quick look at five stocks that made notable gains on Tuesday.

Surge Battery Metals Inc. (TSXV: NILI) (OTCQX: NILIF) In light of the announcement from the company yesterday, its stock went on a strong rally and ended the day with gains of 13%. Surge Battery Metals Inc. announced yesterday that it contracted the services of M3 Engineering and Technology Corporation as the lead engineering firm to create a PEA (preliminary economic assessment) and the related NI 43-101 technical report for the Nevada North Lithium Project (NNLP).

M3 Engineering is based out of Tucson, Arizona, and is a noted leader in the lithium claystone industry. The results from the NNLP PEA are expected to be made available at the end of the fourth quarter of 2024.

Santacruz Silver Mining Ltd. (TSXV: SCZ) On May 14, the stock emerged as one of the major movers as it ended the day with gains of 11%. While there was no news about Santacruz Silver Mining Ltd. yesterday, the company announced its financial results for the fourth fiscal quarter and full year 2023.

The company reported that it processed 1,883,446 tons of material in the 2023 fiscal year, which worked out to a rise of 14% from the previous fiscal year. Santacruz Silver Mining produced 22,641,052 silver equivalent ounces in the year, and that reflected a rise of 25% from the previous year. Cash cost per silver equivalent ounce went up 8% from the previous year to hit $18.96.

Emerita Resources Corp. (TSXV: EMO) After the 10% rally in the stock on Tuesday, it is likely that it will be in focus this morning. On May 2, Emerita Resources Corp. announced that it had completed a non-brokered private placement financing of 12,500,000 units for a price of $0.40 each to raise gross proceeds to the tune of $5,000,000. Each unit was comprised of one common share of the company’s capital and one common share purchase warrant. The holder of a warrant would be entitled to pick up an Emerita Resources Corp. share for $0.60 up until 36 months from the date of issuance.

Vizsla Silver Corp. (TSXV: VZLA) (NYSE: VZLA) On May 8, the company reported results from the six new drill holes at the La Luisa Vein, located around 700 meters to the west of the Napoleon resource, at its 100% owned Panuco silver-gold project in Mexico.

Vizsla Silver Corp. announced at the time that the completion of the drilling activities continued to show high-grade mineralization continuity. The company went on to note that there were more high-grade intercepts as well as refined interpretations. The stock clocked gains of 9% yesterday.

New Stratus Energy Inc. (TSXV: NSE) Yesterday, the company announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement with an arm’s length vendor pertaining to a 49% equity interest acquisition in the private Mexican oil and natural gas firm Operaciones Petroleras Soledad S. de R.L. de C.V. The news came as a source of positivity for the New Stratus Energy Inc. stock, as it garnered strong interest and ended up with gains of 8% for the day.
